FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW IS THE
TRAP-DOOR PRO DIFFERENT THAN A BOLT?
Unlike a bolt which moves a paintball down the barrel, the Trap-door
Pro's fin moves the paintball only to the edge of the barrel. The result is
true closed bolt performance from a boltless marker. The Trap-door Pro, like
the original Trap Door, will not chop a ball as it is loaded.
DOES THE FIN AFFECT AIR FLOW TO THE PAINTBALL?
The fin acts as a diffuser to control airflow to the paintball and breaks
up the pressure front that acts on the paintball during firing. Both actions
improve accuracy and consistency.
CAN I PUT THE
TRAP-DOOR PRO INTO A
CLASSIC EPIC?
Yes. The Trap-door Pro works with older Epics but requires a body
modification. This requires sending the marker to ICE and includes an
installed Trap-door Pro. Modifications cost is $45.00.
The original Trap Door will be returned with the
marker.
WHY DO I WANT TO CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL TRAP-DOOR
TO THE TRAP-DOOR PRO?
If you prefer to use barrel systems/kits to match for changing paintball
sizes, the Trap-door Pro is for you. However, you don’t need to. If the
Trap-door Kit is used properly to size for paintballs and barrel brakes
seldom occur, the performance gain will be
minimal.
IF I CHANGE TO THE
TRAP-DOOR PRO, CAN I EVER USE MY
ORIGINAL TRAP-DOOR KIT AGAIN?
Yes, once converted for use with the Trap-door Pro, the original Trap
Door can still be used if desired.
ARE THERE ANY ADVANTAGES TO USING THE ORIGINAL TRAP
DOOR?
Yes. The original Trap Door never pushes the paintball; therefore, it is
retained behind the ball stops before firing. The Trap-door
Pro moves the paintball past the ball stops, and
the ball must be retained by the barrel or barrel insert. When using
the Trap-door Pro, if the paintball is small, it can roll out of the barrel
before firing.
